NYC Part 2: A New York state of mind

It's been a few weeks since we returned to British soil but NYC is still firmly in my mind and I thought it was about time I gave you a further update on our adventure.

Our first few days seemed to pass wonderfully slowly, with us managing to cram a lot into a relatively short amount of time, but before we knew it, it was Wednesday and we headed out for breakfast at Juniors. Corned beef hash with a poached egg. Again, YUM.

Breakfast at Junior's

We headed downtown to the High Line and on through the Meatpacking District to the Staten Island Ferry to take some pictures of the tip of Manhattan and Lady Liberty. We even managed to find a Quilting shop for Mum on the way, earning Dad some extra Brownie points.

We couldn't have picked a better day, the sun was shining and it was even a little warm when you were out of the shade. The boat wasn't too busy and we were able to rest a while whilst enjoying the view. Had it not been for Mum, Mark and The Boy dawdling and missing the ferry back we would have been over and back in no time, but instead Dad and I were forced to wait in the ferry terminal back in Manhattan until they eventually turned up. Good one guys.

Next we went to Union Square and Dad made a beeline for the Heartland Brewery, before we all headed out for a spot of shopping (Hello new wedge boots) followed by taking some pictures at the Flatiron.

Mmmmmmm, steak at Keens

Wednesday was date night and The Boy and I chose to try Keens Steakhouse near Macy's. It was amazing. More meat than you can imagine and had a really cosy and friendly atmosphere where we chatted to the people at the tables next to us. The lighting was low and romantic, which unfortunately meant that my photos didn't come out quite as well as I'd hoped but I would recommend this restaurant to anyone hoping for a unique night out in NYC.
